For-Profit Skills in a Nonprofit World w/ James Schleck | Video Episode 27

December 8, 2020

Imagine, if you will, a world without homelessness. Where people care enough to not allow others to live on the streets. And where a helping hand is easy to reach. It’s not as crazy as it sounds. James Schleck and his team at Community Solutions are on a mission to create a lasting solution to homelessness that puts humans front and center. How are they doing that? By removing barriers with stellar for-profit skills in a nonprofit environment.

They’re helping make it easier for those experiencing homelessness to get to shelters without having to fill out mountains of paperwork. They’re calling each client by their name instead of a case file number, to remind their team that they are changing individual lives, not just impacting numbers. They’re outsourcing anything that isn’t absolutely core to their mission statement and their end goal of ending homelessness. They’re doing it all so that they can say, with confidence, that they’re putting everything into implementing a lasting solution to homelessness. This interview with James was an incredible one.
