Recently, volunteers from Personiv’s Gurugram site came together to install solar panels, streetlights and water purification equipment as part of this quarter's Giving Back initiative. And this time, the innovative green tech the team supplied and installed will be instrumental in helping to keep centuries-old Indian traditions alive well into the future.

The work done in service to Personiv’s cultural pillar, #GivingBack is something of an institution itself, representing decades of service to the community – and we’re just getting started! The latest Giving Back recipient – Gurgaon-based Aravindam Foundation – is a social welfare trust that provides free academic support and educational training, programs and spaces to underserved women and children throughout India. These programs, which take place after school, equip learners with the skills to become trainers in India’s heritage arts, including yoga, Sanskrit, classical dance and musical artistic traditions that span centuries.

Now, thanks to the addition of Personiv’s newly donated 5KWpH solar panel system, 11 solar-powered streetlights and water purification system, the Foundation can provide clean water and reliable, eco-friendly electricity to the community learners it serves for a long time to come. Volunteers from the Personiv Gurugram team also helped install a water tank and cooler, got their hands dirty renovating the onsite washroom, constructed a study hall and distributed school bags as part of the initiative.

Personiv volunteers will continue to help Aravindam Foundation with routine maintenance of the new additions in the years to come as a means of keeping our promise to not just give back to the communities we work and live in but to promote lasting, positive change when we do.

Vishal Bora, EVP giving back to community

For the Aravindam Foundation Giving Back initiative, "we" included Gurugram’s EVP & Site Head, Vishal Bora, who handed out supplies and helped install the new solar panels and lights. "The opportunity to give back to the community is one of the most satisfying experiences life has to offer," he said. "At Personiv, we believe so strongly in the importance of that that we made it one of our five brand pillars – integral to the work we do as a company, the culture we engage in as a team and the community we hope to build wherever we go."
