International Business Stevie Award

Personiv, an Austin-based and globally recognized outsourcing provider, was named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the Publications category of the 17th Annual International Business Awards® today for their financial leadership podcast, CFO Weekly. The innovative business podcast took the top spot as the first winner ever in the subcategory's inaugural year when it was named 'Best Business Podcast' of 2020.

The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small - are eligible to submit nominations. The 2020 IBAs received entries from organizations in 63 nations and territories. Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 250 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process from July through early September 2020.

Best business podcast

“Winning Gold from the Stevie International Business Awards is a prestigious honor for the entire Personiv team,” said David Lesniak, CEO of Personiv. “We are proud to publish such important, interesting and valuable content for top financial leaders in our podcast CFO Weekly, which is yet another way that our talented team lives one of our foundational company pillars: A Focus on Quality.”

Personiv only recently launched the winning podcast, CFO Weekly, in May 2020 when they saw an opportunity to rise to a unique challenge: creating educational, insightful and – crucially – enjoyable content for finance leaders and accounting professionals. As an audience, it's one that is underserved across online media channels, especially on podcasting platforms. The result, CFO Weekly, is a podcast that invites that audience in with topics that go beyond accounting and into areas essential for every aspect of business leadership.

Megan Weis, VP FAO servicesEach week finance leaders in executive roles speak with Personiv's VP & General Manager – FAO Services, Megan Weis, covering topics that have included everything from how to best address the hiring challenges in modern accounting departments to the benefits of women in leadership positions. Weis strives to make the podcast accessible to professionals from any industry, striking a conversational tone that resonates with everyone from CFOs to curious lay listeners.

“Taking home a Gold Stevie for our work on CFO Weekly during the subcategory’s inaugural year is indeed an honor, and it reflects the amount of care we take in producing a quality product,” Weis said. “Talking with financial leaders about their challenges, successes and best practices is what this podcast is all about, and I look forward to continuing to host the ‘Best Business Podcast’ of 2020.”

CFO Weekly Best PodcastThe judges for the subcategory were impressed with the breadth and far-reaching value that the content provides. "As a non-accountant, I tend not to be excited by the subject, but this podcast brings the subject alive, in providing content useful to any businessperson," said one anonymous judge, who noted that in assessing the entry they "... went down the rabbit hole of wonderful content."

"Personiv's Financial Leadership CFO Weekly podcasts are informational, and subject matter experts provide insights on various business challenges and decisions faced," noted another judge. "The host does a great job with targeted questions to gather insights from podcast expert guests. Listeners can learn from the podcast guests across a spectrum of leadership topics," they added.

As the ongoing COVID-19 crisis will prevent winners from receiving their awards on stage during a traditional gala IBA banquet, winners will be celebrated instead during a virtual ceremony on Tuesday, 1 December.
